Artesano Del Tobacco has announced a price increase for two portions of its portfolio, citing increased costs associated with recently imposed tariffs.
Effective immediately, the company is raising the price of Viva La Vida Classic and EL Pulpo Culebra cigars by $5 per box in the United States. The adjustment does not apply to international markets.
While the increase affects the standard Viva La Vida lineup, the Viva La Vida Connecticut and Viva La Vida 5th Anniversary cigars will retain their current pricing. The regular EL Pulpo lineup is also unaffected, with the Culebra being the only EL Pulpo format receiving the increase.
According to Artesano Del Tobacco, the company had been absorbing the additional tariff-related expenses for several months before making the adjustment. The company elected to limit the increase to the two product lines rather than raising prices across its entire portfolio.
The change marks only the second price increase for Viva La Vida since the brand debuted in 2019.
Artesano Del Tobacco was founded by brothers Billy and Gus Fakih after selling their New York Cigar Inn retail business to Casa de Montecristo in 2015. The company’s Viva La Vida and EL Pulpo cigars are produced in Nicaragua in partnership with AJ Fernandez.
