Six cigar manufacturers joined forces earlier this month for a fundraising event benefiting Cigar Rights of America (CRA), raising more than $228,000 for the consumer advocacy organization.
Held June 10 at Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, Connecticut, the Titans of Tobacco event was organized by The Tobacconist of Greenwich and drew approximately 300 attendees from across the country. According to the retailer, the evening generated $228,350 through a live auction featuring 18 collector-focused lots, with proceeds earmarked for CRA.
The gathering brought together representatives from A. Fuente & Co., Padrรณn Cigars, La Flor Dominicana, Foundation Cigar Company, Tabacalera Diaz Cabrera, and Kelner Cigars. The event focused on raising funds and awareness for CRA, which advocates on behalf of premium cigar consumers and businesses.
โThe Tobacconist of Greenwich has been bringing people together over exceptional cigars since 1974, and Iโm not sure anything has ever captured that spirit quite like this night,โ said Michael Cafagno, Chief Executive Officer of The Tobacconist of Greenwich. โTo have six of the greatest cigar families and so many cherished friends in one room, all in support of a cause that safeguards this craft, was a profound honor. What we build together is meant to outlast any one of us โ and Iโm grateful to everyone who helped point this industry toward an even brighter future.โ
Dylan Austin, President and COO of The Tobacconist of Greenwich, said the event highlighted the strength of the premium cigar community and the industry’s ongoing efforts to support advocacy initiatives.
“The support we saw at the Titans of Tobacco celebration is exactly the kind of grassroots energy that keeps premium cigars in the hands of the adults who enjoy them and outside of government encroachment,โ said Mike Copperman, Executive Director of Cigar Rights of America. โThese hard earned dollars go directly toward defending this industry and the people who love it.”
The retailer also announced plans for its next major charity event, Opus Xodus, scheduled for October 7, 2026, with proceeds benefiting The Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.
