Aaron Sigmond has announced a new book, CIGARS: A Culture, which is scheduled for release in October 2026 through Mad/Dash Press in partnership with the Premium Cigar Association.

The upcoming volume serves as a companion to Sigmond’s 2025 book, CIGARS: A Biography. According to the author, the new project grew from material that was originally intended to be included in the earlier publication but was ultimately removed as the book expanded in size.

While CIGARS: A Biography focused on the history of cigars and the people involved in growing, producing, and selling them, CIGARS: A Culture shifts its attention to the broader world that surrounds premium cigars.

โ€œA Biography took readers on a journeyโ€”chronicling the cigar across time, soil and seaโ€”through the Caribbean Basin, the Americas and Europe, from tobacco growers and cigarmakers to merchants. A Culture continues that journeyโ€”beyond the fields, the curing barns, fermentation, tobacco warehouses, rolling and arrival on merchantsโ€™ shelves,โ€ Sigmond says. โ€œThis new work explores cigars through the lens of arts, culture, media, events, accessories and epicurean pursuitsโ€”all the refined pleasures, pursuits and customs that orbit the cigar.โ€

Sigmond and Mad/Dash Press creative director Liliana Guia revisited the unused material from CIGARS: A Biography and expanded it into a separate stand-alone volume. Together, the two books represent what Sigmond describes as the complete realization of the original concept.

The book will be released as a limited edition and offered with four different cover designs, each featuring a unique cigar-and-pen pairing. The interior content will remain the same across all editions. Separate versions for Europe and the Middle East are also planned for those markets.

Pre-orders for CIGARS: A Culture open June 15, 2026, with the book expected to ship in October.
