For the fourth time since 2019, 2GuysCigars.com is teaming up with Single Cask Nation and Aganorsa Leaf for a new barrel-aged cigar release, this time using an ex-peated whisky barrel from Balcones Distilling.
The previous collaborations were released in 2019, 2021, and 2023, each built around Nicaraguan tobacco and aging influenced by bourbon or rye barrels selected by the Single Cask Nation team. For the 2026 release, the partners chose an ex-peated barrel from Balcones Distilling in Waco, Texas, creating a different profile from the earlier projects.
The cigar is a 5½ x 50 vitola featuring a Corojo 99 wrapper, a double binder of Corojo 99 and Criollo 98, and fillers made from Corojo 99 and Criollo 98. Pricing is set at $14 per cigar or $140 per box of 10, with production limited to 200 boxes. Sales begin Friday, May 15 at 10 a.m. Eastern, exclusively through 2GuysCigars.com.
Terence Reilly, vice president of sales and marketing for Aganorsa Leaf, said the barrel-aging process requires close oversight and patience.
“This project is always one of the most challenging to execute. Ensuring the barrel contributes just the right amount to the flavor and aroma requires extreme attention to detail and my personal supervision over the entire progression, a process which on average takes two years before we are ready for release.”
Joshua Hatton, co-founder of Single Cask Nation, said the Balcones single malt brought a different layer to the blend.
“The qualities and nuanced flavors from our Balcones single malt marry so well with, and enhance, the rich flavors of the tobaccos chosen for this cigar. It makes for a truly unique and wonderful smoking experience!”
David Garofalo of 2GuysCigars.com added that the peated barrel helped separate this release from the previous three.
