Cigar Prop is celebrating its 10th anniversary with the release of a limited commemorative cigar made in partnership with Fabrica Centroamericana de Tabaco S.A. (FCT), the factory behind Cavalier Cigars.

The project began as a way to mark a decade since founder Kevin Shahan first launched Cigar Prop from his garage.

According to the company, the idea for the anniversary release came from Kevin’s wife Jessica, who originally named the company back when the two were still dating.

“We should do a cigar,” she said, helping set the project in motion.

Jessica also selected FCT as the factory partner for the release. Kevin then worked with Brian Motola and the FCT team to develop the blend, reviewing multiple samples before settling on the final version.

The cigar uses a Jamastrán Oscuro wrapper from Honduras over a Connecticut binder from Honduras. Fillers include Honduran Viso Copán, Honduran Ligero Jamastrán, Nicaraguan Viso Jalapa, and Seco Sumatra.

The Cigar Prop 10th Anniversary cigar will be offered in 3-packs, 5-packs, and boxes of 10. Boxes will feature commemorative 3D-printed packaging designed and produced in-house by Cigar Prop.

Brian Motola of FCT said the project was built around capturing the energy behind the brand.

“10 years of Cigar Prop… it feels like just yesterday I first met Kevin and Jessica. It was an absolute honor to be part of this project and create something that pays tribute to the hard work, passion, and energy they’ve poured into this brand. The goal was simple… capture that energy and turn it into a cigar. Mission accomplished.”
