Cavalier Genève has announced that allocations are now closed for its collaboration set with Swiss watchmaker CVSTOS, meaning all available units have already been spoken for before most cigar smokers even had a chance to consider it.
That makes the announcement a bit unusual, as the company is effectively sharing news of a product that can no longer be purchased. Still, the project itself stands out for bringing together a mechanical timepiece, premium cigars, and a custom humidor in a release limited to just 30 sets.
According to the company, both the watches and cigars have already been produced, while the humidors are currently in production. Shipping is expected to begin this summer once the humidors are completed and pass final quality control checks.
The collaboration was positioned as a project centered on craftsmanship, bringing together watchmaking and cigar production through a shared focus on patience and precision.
“It has been fantastic to see the overwhelming positive reaction to our collaboration with CVSTOS,” said Sebastien Decoppet, founder of Cavalier Genève. “Making something of the sort happen, is always a challenge and furthermore, you never can fully know what the overall reaction of the public will be. I am glad to see that, not only the watch world, but the cigar world alike, have welcomed this collaboration.”
Limited to 30 total sets, the release was clearly aimed at collectors rather than general retail availability, making the closed allocations less surprising even if the timing of the announcement feels a little backward.
“I would like to thank our good friends at CVSTOS for this incredible experience. Creating a watch was never something I would have even dreamt of in my wildest dreams, and here we are, with this project completed, and such a positive reaction from all our partners. Thank you,” Decoppet added.
