La Gloria Cubana is adding a new regular-production line with the release of Intención, a blend that leans into the company’s earlier focus on fuller-bodied cigars and accessible pricing.

According to details shared ahead of PCA 2026, the project centers on revisiting the brand’s original identity, which emphasized stronger profiles and larger ring gauges. The company says the move comes at a time when the market has seen an influx of more experimental releases, prompting a return to a more straightforward approach.

“Everything about this cigar is intentional,” said John Hakim, brand manager for La Gloria Cubana. “With all of the gimmicks that flood the cigar industry, we wanted to remind fans why La Gloria Cubana deserves to have a spot in their humidor. La Gloria Cubana began with the intention to create satisfying, fuller-bodied cigars at a price all cigar lovers could access, so that’s exactly what we’re giving fans. Nothing flashy, just a real quality cigar.”

The blend is described as medium to full in strength, built around a mix of Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers, including Estelí ligero and viso along with Jamastran and La Entrada tobaccos. An Indonesian binder and Mexican San Andrés wrapper round out the composition, with the profile noted for chocolate and leather characteristics.

Intención will be offered as an ongoing release in three sizes, packaged in 20-count boxes. Production takes place at Scandinavian Tobacco Group Estelí in Nicaragua, with shipping expected to begin April 20, 2026.
