AVO Cigars is preparing to mark a major milestone in 2026, as the brand plans a year-long tribute to its founder, Avo Uvezian, on what would have been his 100th birthday.
According to the company, the celebration will focus on bringing people together through shared experiences that reflect Uvezian’s approach to both music and cigars. Before entering the cigar world, Uvezian built a career as a classically trained pianist and jazz composer, and that background would later influence how he approached blending cigars.
Rather than positioning the centenary around a single release or event, AVO says the effort will unfold in stages throughout the year. The first details are expected to be revealed during the Premium Cigar Association Trade Show in New Orleans this April, where the company plans to introduce the opening chapter of the celebration.
The brand points to themes like connection, creativity, and shared experience as central to the upcoming initiative, all of which were tied closely to Uvezian’s philosophy.
“Avo Uvezian was a man of the world who began his career as a musician and then developed from a cigar lover to a cigar composer. He honed these talents to perfection. Even after his passing, we continue to carry the flame of his legacy within us,” said Javier González, SVP Head Global Marketing & Innovation at Oettinger Davidoff.
While specifics on products or limited releases have not yet been announced, AVO indicates that more details will be shared as the year progresses.
