La Aurora used Super Bowl week to introduce a new collaboration cigar tied to Pro Football Hall of Famer Anthony Muñoz.
The cigar, called the Anthony Muñoz 78, was previewed during the annual “Ditka Jaws Gridiron Greats Cigars with the Stars” event held February 5 in San Francisco. The gathering supports the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund, a nonprofit that provides financial and medical assistance to retired NFL players in need.
La Aurora participated in the evening by offering its 1903 Cameroon to attendees and sharing an early look at the Muñoz collaboration, which is scheduled to launch in Ohio at the end of February with an MSRP of $18.
The Anthony Muñoz 78 will be released in a 6×60 Gran Toro format. According to details shared at the event, the blend includes Criollo, Corojo, Dominican, and Pennsylvania filler tobaccos, a Haban binder, and a Broadleaf wrapper.
“The Gridiron Greats put on another incredible night, and it’s always an honor for us at La Aurora to be part of something that meaningful. Getting to celebrate the game and give everyone a first look at the Anthony Munoz 78 made it even more special for me personally,” said John Ferrigan, La Aurora National Sales Director. “Football and cigars may live in different arenas, but they’re built on the same foundation — craftsmanship, patience, discipline, and pride in what you create. More than anything, though, both have a way of bringing people together and turning moments into lasting bonds.”
Muñoz also shared a brief message tied to the project: “We hope this cigar blesses a connection, conversation, round of golf, or a time of reflection. Thanks to the many fans and the support. Col 3:23.”
The Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on assisting former NFL players facing medical and financial hardships. The annual “Cigars with the Stars” event continues to serve as a fundraising platform wh
