Avowed Cigars has announced a new Corona Gorda expression for its New Dawn line, adding a smaller ring gauge option to the existing portfolio.
The New Dawn Corona Gorda measures 6 x 46 and features a slight adjustment to the Piloto Cubano priming to better suit the slimmer format. According to the company, the goal was to retain the core character of the blend while allowing the smaller ring gauge to emphasize balance and flavor concentration.
New Dawn cigars are wrapped in dark Ecuadorian Connecticut leaves from the 2016 vintage, sourced from A.S.P. Production takes place at Kelner Cigars, S.A.S. in the Dominican Republic, where each cigar is rolled by a single pair of rollers. The blend remains consistent with the original release, featuring an Ecuadorian Habano binder and a filler combination of Piloto Cubano, Criollo 98, and San Vicente tobaccos.
The Corona Gorda will ship to retail partners next week, with nationwide deliveries scheduled to begin on February 13. The cigars will be packaged in 15-count boxes with an MSRP of $15.00 per cigar. Production is listed as ongoing.
โThis Corona Gorda embraces my favorite aspects of our debut New Dawn vitolas. Imagine combining the creaminess of Robusto Grande with Toro’s intensity of flavor โ now available in a single package from our smallest ring gauge to date,โ said Dave West.
