Romeo y Julieta is expanding its Reserva Real Nicaragua lineup with the introduction of Reserva Real Nicaragua Profundo, a new extension developed in collaboration with A.J. Fernandez and Rafael Nodal.

Produced at A.J. Fernandezโ€™s operations in Nicaragua, Profundo is a 100% Nicaraguan puro highlighted by an extra-fermented Nicaraguan Oscuro wrapper. According to the company, the blend was designed to build on the established Reserva Real profile while leaning further into Nicaraguan tobacco characteristics.

โ€œContinuing to build on the success of the Reserva Real family, the Profundo was developed to offer aficionados a new expression that reflects their evolving taste and growing appreciation for Nicaraguan tobaccos, while preserving the signature smoothness that defines the brand,โ€ said Mariana Hinestrosa, Senior Brand Manager for Romeo y Julieta.

Altadis U.S.A. describes the cigar as medium-to-full in body, with a flavor profile that includes dark chocolate, espresso, earth, pepper, dried fruit, nuts, and a sweet finish reminiscent of molasses.

Reserva Real Nicaragua Profundo will ship in four sizes: Robusto (5 x 50), Toro (6 x 54), Magnum (6 x 60), and Churchill (7 x 50). The Robusto, Toro, and Churchill are packaged in 25-count boxes, while the Magnum comes in a 20-count format. Packaging incorporates a purple-and-gold color scheme intended to visually bridge elements from both Reserva Real Red and Reserva Real Nicaragua.

Preorders are scheduled to begin in February, with national shipments expected to follow in mid-March.
