Duran Cigars is marking a notable moment in the company’s history with the release of the Roberto Duran Reserva, the first blend created collaboratively by Roberto Pelayo Duran and his son, Roberto Pelayo Duran Jr. The project arrives as part of the brand’s renewed U.S. presence following the establishment of its headquarters and retail space in Little Havana, Miami.
The Reserva builds on the foundation of the original Roberto P. Duran line, with an emphasis on combining traditional cigar craftsmanship with a new generational approach. Production takes place at the Duran family’s boutique factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, known for small-scale operations and Cuban-influenced construction methods.
“This is the first cigar my father and I truly blended together,” said Roberto Duran Jr. “The Reserva reflects two generations — his deep knowledge and my modern vision of flavor. Creating this cigar with him is something I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.”
The blend features:
- Wrapper: Habano Corojo (Fincas Azan, Ecuador – 2024 harvest)
- Binder: Besuki Indonesia
- Filler: Three-year aged Jalapa Viso & Seco with Estelí Nicaraguan tobacco
- Vitolas and pricing include Big Robusto (5 x 54), Toro Box Pressed (6 x 54), and Double Corona (7 x 52).
“Working on this blend with my son has been one of the most meaningful moments of my career,” said Roberto Pelayo Duran. “The Reserva shows who we are—our past, our present, and the future of Duran Cigars.”
The cigar will ship nationwide as a standalone release directly from the company’s Little Havana distribution center.
