Montecristo is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a limited-edition cigar release, developed by Rafael Nodal of Altadis U.S.A. in partnership with the Plasencia family. The cigar will debut on August 30 at Casa de Montecristo in Villa Park, Illinois, followed by a nationwide release on September 15.
Blended with Nicaraguan tobaccos grown by Plasencia, the cigar is described as medium-bodied, with notes of roasted coffee, dark cocoa, spice, and a creamy finish. “Blending the Montecristo 90th Anniversary was both a creative challenge and a personal honor,” said Nodal. “Every draw is meant to transport you to the golden age of Havana and into the future of cigar making.”
The launch will be supported by a national tour featuring themed events at Casa de Montecristo locations and select venues through November. “We wanted to respect our roots while delivering a modern experience that speaks to today’s luxury smoker,” said Brand Manager Gabe Diaz.

In addition to the cigars, Montecristo has teamed up with BRM Chronographes to offer a limited-edition skeleton dial timepiece—only 35 pieces will be available. Each watch is housed in a custom 90th Anniversary humidor that includes cigar accessories and game-themed extras.
The cigars will come in two formats: the 5½ x 56 Parejo (Nacional) at $38.75 MSRP, and the 6⅛ x 52 Figurado (No. 2) at $40. The Montecristo x BRM watch and humidor package is priced at $15,000.
