E.P. Carrillo has expanded its Essence Series with the introduction of the Essence Series Connecticut, marking the fourth blend in the collection. This new cigar joins the existing Sumatra, Maduro, and Honduras offerings. Unlike the earlier blends crafted at Casa Carrillo, the Connecticut is the second in the series to be produced at the Agroindustrias DIADEMA factory in Honduras.
The Essence Series Connecticut is a mild-bodied cigar featuring an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, a Criollo 98 Honduran binder, and a filler mix of Honduran and Dominican Republic tobaccos. The combination yields a flavor profile with notes of cream, hay, and light pepper, alongside earthy and cedar undertones, finishing with a clean, medium-length aftertaste. โThe Essence Series Connecticut was born out of a desire to create a cigar that pairs creamy, mellow flavors with exceptional craftsmanship,โ said Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. โThis blend is perfect for both seasoned smokers seeking a refined, nuanced experience and those new to the world of premium cigars.โ
Set to debut at the 2025 PCA trade show in New Orleans in April, the Connecticut will be available for sampling, with pre-orders opening immediately. Shipping to retailers is slated to begin in May. The cigar will come in three sizesโCorona (5 1/2 x 44), Robusto (5 x 50), and Toro (6 x 52)โeach packaged in a 24-count box, priced at $8.75, $9.25, and $10, respectively. Cigar enthusiasts can expect this release to offer a smooth option suitable for pairing with morning coffee or an evening drink.
