Florida-based retailer Smoke Inn Cigars will be celebrating last year’s 25th anniversary—marking the date of the company’s first premium cigar store—with a limited-edition collaboration with Drew Estate, dubbed Herrera Estelí Miami Smoke Inn 25th Anniversary The Raji.
The cigar’s name is a commemoration to Raji Dababneh, father of Smoke Inn founder, Abe Dababneh. As such, the cigars feature his name on a custom-designed foot band, as well as Raji’s signature on the back of each box.
“When I was growing up in Chicago, I watched my dad work tirelessly at the little grocery store he owned,” says Abe. “He always put in whatever it took to overcome any challenges and keep a roof over our heads and food on our table. He is a true inspiration for me as a businessman, husband and as a father. I learned, and continue to learn, so much from him. Dedicating our 25th anniversary cigar to him is the best way for me to give my heartfelt thanks to him for all that he has done for me.”
The Herrera Estelí Miami Smoke Inn 25th Anniversary The Raji cigar is rolled out of the famed El Titan de Bronze factory of Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, home to Drew Estate Master Blender, Willy Herrera. The cigars make use of a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. This blend has been constructed in a singular 6″ x 50 toro format, described as “a spicy medium- to full-bodied cigar with hay and floral notes.”
Founder and President of Drew Estate, Jonathan Drew adds, “Abe and I have been close friends from very early on, and he has always been a true ‘stand and deliver’ guy who deserves tremendous success. His father, Raji, clearly has been a great mentor and teacher. It’s an honor to pay tribute to Raji, as well as celebrate Smoke Inn’s 25th anniversary with this majestic Herrera Estelí Miami expression.”
The cigar is scheduled to debut alongside a special anniversary event on May 6th (6 to 9 pm), held atop the Tru by Hilton Pompano Beach hotel. Jonathan Drew, Willy Herrera, and Abe Dababneh will be in attendance alongside Abe’s father, Raji. The event will include music by Drew Estate’s DJ Eli, as well as food, spirits, and other surprises, such as “a party packet containing a commemorative ‘The Raji’ ashtray and 29 assorted cigars, including the Herrera Estelí Miami Smoke Inn 25th Anniversary Raji.” Tickets to the event are limited to 250 people and will go on sale on April 6th, priced at $250 per ticket.
The cigars themselves will be limited to 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars and will become available after the event through Smoke Inn.
