Following the Year of the Rooster, Davidoff has introduced the next limited edition cigar in their ongoing “Zodiac Series” of cigars. Davidoff Year of the Dog is now available to the US market, shipping ahead of the actual start date for the Chinese Year of the Dog, which begins on February 16, 2018. This is common to Davidoff’s annual zodiac releases, allowing time for consumers across the globe to have the cigars in time for the Chinese New Year.

Year of the Dog Limited Edition 2018 marks the seventh release in Davidoff’s annual limited edition series.

Differing from the elaborate box presentation and vitola from last year’s Year of the Rooster release—which used a 6¾” x 50 Diadema format—the Year of the Dog Limited Edition 2018 offers a more simplistic 7″ x 50 “Gran Churchill” size. The cigars have been limited to 9,000 boxes of 10 worldwide, retailing for $39.00 MSRP (per cigar).

Accessories

Traditionally, each new zodiac cigar release has been accompanied by customized, matching accessories from Davidoff. Year of the Dog capitalizes on Davidoff’s latest merchandise, introducing the first update to the new Travel Humidor since it was launched earlier this month.

Made in Italy, this Limited und numbered Year of the Dog Edition Travel Humidor (29.7 x 31.3 x 3.7 cm) comes in a rich, dark red perforated leather flap, and an elegant beige fabric with a dedicated insert pocket to hold the Davidoff Year of the Dog Duocut Punch Cutter. Only 200 pieces are available worldwide.

Davidoff is also introducing the Year of the Dog Duocut Double Blade Punch Cutter, which has been designed to attach discretely under the matching Travel Humidor.

By twisting the tip of the cutter to the right, the large blade will cut the cigars in ring gauges (RG) from 50 to 70. By twisting it to the left, the smaller blade will fit any cigar ring gauge from 40 to 50 (RG). With one single movement it is possible to access both blades while holding the cigar in the other hand.

The Year of the Dog Travel Humidor and Duocut Double Blade Punch Cutter will retail for $350.00 and $230.00 respectively.
