Powstanie’s annual Veterans Day cigar is back, and this year there’s less of it to go around.
The company is now taking retailer orders for War Bear 2026, the latest entry in its Wojtek Series. It’s set to release on November 11, with just 390 boxes of 21 cigars, which Powstanie says makes it the most limited War Bear yet.
The series is named for Wojtek, the bear who served with the Polish II Corps during World War II. Wojtek was enlisted as a soldier and helped carry ammunition during the Battle of Monte Cassino. Powstanie has released a limited Wojtek cigar every year since 2019.
For 2026, the cigar comes as a 7 x 48 box-pressed Churchill. It uses the Wojtek blend with its barber-pole look, as Ecuadorian Habano and Mexican San Andrés wrappers spiral around an Indonesian binder. The fillers are from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Production is handled at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua.
War Bear 2026 is priced at $16.50 per cigar, or $346.50 per box of 21.
