Crowned Heads and Brigham Enterprises, its Canadian distributor, are releasing Moose Kick for a third straight year. The annual limited edition is made only for the Canadian market, and the 2026 version comes with a new size, a revised blend, updated packaging and a contest built around Canada’s plain-packaging rules.
Moose Kick Limited Edition 2026 moves to a 4 7/8 x 56, up from last year’s 4 7/8 x 52. The core tobaccos haven’t changed: a Mexican San Andrรฉs wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and filler. The blend itself has been adjusted, though, and it’s still made in Nicaragua under Eradio Pichardo at TacaNicsa, who has produced every Moose Kick release so far.
“This year we created a cigar with a little more character, aiming to further refine the blend by enhancing the notes of sweetness, pepper and wood, above all, we dialed in the balancing acidity,” said Eradio Pichardo, owner of TacaNicsa.
Production is up again. Crowned Heads is making 5,600 cigars this year, compared with 4,500 in 2025 and 3,000 for the first release in 2024.
The main band now has blue accents, following the green and red bands used on the first two editions, and a secondary band marks it as the 2026 Limited Edition. It’s also the first year Moose Kick ships in 40-count branded display boxes, each holding four 10-count bundles.

The bigger change is one smokers won’t see right away. Canadian law requires cigar branding to be covered with a standardized compliant band, and Brigham Enterprises decided to use that cover to hide something. Ten of the 5,600 cigars carry a gold version of the Moose Kick band with a golden crown above the moose’s head. The difference only shows once the compliant band is moved.
The promotion is called The Hunt for the Golden Crown. Anyone who finds one of the ten golden bands can claim a five-cigar commemorative sampler with two Moose Kick 2024 cigars, two from 2025 and one from 2026. The shop that sold the winning cigar gets a gold Moose Kick tin-plate wall sign. Winning bands have to be claimed by June 1, 2027.

Moose Kick was created by Miguel M. Schoedel of Crowned Heads/OZ Family Cigars and Richard Joseph, premium cigar category manager at Brigham Enterprises. The name is a Canadian spin on Crowned Heads’ Four Kicks Mule Kick, a limited edition series the company has run for years. The size and packaging have changed each year since the 2024 debut, while the core tobaccos have stayed the same.
