La Flor Dominicana is marking the 10th anniversary of the Andalusian Bull with a new limited-edition Maduro version of the cigar, scheduled to begin shipping to retailers on October 7.
The original Andalusian Bull debuted in 2016, with the cigar’s distinctive 6½-inch figurado shape and blend becoming one of the more recognizable releases in La Flor Dominicana’s portfolio. For the anniversary, LFD is returning to tobacco from the same year the original cigar was introduced.
The Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro uses binder and filler tobaccos from La Flor Dominicana’s estate-grown 2016 La Canela crop. The company says the tobaccos have undergone extended fermentation and aging over the past decade.
The primary change comes on the outside, where the anniversary cigar is finished with a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. The darker wrapper is intended to give the familiar Andalusian Bull profile a sweeter and richer character while retaining the identity of the original blend.
“The Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro had to be an Andalusian Bull, but one that looks darker and tastes sweeter. I just want our supporters to love it as much as they love the original Andalusian Bull. That’s all I dream about,” said Litto Gomez.
La Flor Dominicana has produced 5,000 boxes of the Andalusian Bull 10th Anniversary Maduro, with each box containing 10 cigars. Pricing is set at $350 per box, or $35 per cigar, before applicable taxes.
