CAO is bringing back its Amazon Basin Extra Añejo in October, offering a two-year-aged version of the company’s Amazon Basin blend.

The cigars were rolled in 2024 using the standard Amazon Basin recipe before being set aside in CAO’s aging rooms for two years. The blend centers around Brazilian Bragança, an Amazon-grown tobacco that has been a signature component of the line since Amazon Basin debuted in 2014.

“Amazon Basin has always been a special blend because of the unique profile of Bragança tobacco from the Amazon rainforest,” said Cory Beardsley, Brand Manager for CAO. “With Extra Añejo, we gave that blend an extra year to rest and fully mature. It’s the Amazon Basin experience people know, with time bringing even more depth to the blend.”

The CAO Amazon Basin Extra Añejo uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over a Nicaraguan binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Brazil, including the Bragança tobacco. The company describes the cigar as medium to full in body, with earth and fruit among its flavor characteristics.

Amazon Basin Extra Añejo will be offered in a single 6″ x 52 Toro, packaged in boxes of 18. The cigars are scheduled to begin shipping to retailers in October, with an MSRP of $15.89 per cigar.
