A new cigar company has entered the premium market, as Black Rock Cigar Co. officially launches with its first portfolio, The Colliery Series.
Founded by Jim Janovich and Barry Ulsh, the Pennsylvania-based company says the project draws inspiration from the regionโs coal mining history, with both blends serving as tributes to loved ones who have passed away.
The debut portfolio includes two lines: The Williamstown and The Vesta No. 4. The Williamstown is described as a medium-bodied maduro featuring a Mexican San Andrรฉs wrapper over an Indonesian binder and Nicaraguan fillers. The Vesta No. 4 uses an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with a Condega binder and fillers from HVA and Condega tobacco.
Both cigars will be available in 5 x 50 robusto and 6 x 52 toro sizes. Pricing is set at $11 for the robusto and $11.50 for the toro, with packaging in 20-count boxes. The cigars are produced at Tabacalera Hernandez in Estelรญ, Nicaragua.
โBlack Rock Cigar Co. was built to honor where we come from and the people who helped shape us,โ said Jim Janovich and Barry Ulsh. โThe Colliery Series is personal to us. It is rooted in Pennsylvania coal mining heritage, and each cigar reflects remembrance, pride, and the lasting bonds that inspired this brand.โ
According to the company, Black Rock Cigars are currently available through retailers and lounges in Pennsylvania, with plans to expand distribution in the future.
