Altadis U.S.A. is adding a new release to its Montecristo 1935 Anniversary line with the introduction of the Edición Doble Diamante Red, which is scheduled to debut at the 2026 Premium Cigar Association trade show in New Orleans.

The cigar follows the original Doble Diamante release and continues the series with a blend built around Nicaraguan tobaccos sourced from A.J. Fernandez’s farms in Estelí. According to the company, the tobaccos include extra-fermented components from Fernandez’s personal reserves.

Developed in collaboration with Rafael Nodal and A.J. Fernandez, the cigar is described as medium to full in strength, with a profile that includes notes of cocoa, leather, spice, and espresso.

Fernandez’s personal reserve, we were able to craft a blend that delivers remarkable depth, richness and balance while honoring the elegance and tradition that define Montecristo.”

The release will be offered in a 6½” x 54 toro format and packaged in 20-count humidors, with production limited to 250 units.

Altadis says the cigars will begin shipping to retailers on April 17, the same day they are unveiled at PCA 2026.
