A new collaboration between La Flor Dominicana and Project Carbon is set to debut at PCA 2026, with both companies bringing their respective approaches to materials and craftsmanship into a single project.
Called Carbon Flower, the release pairs La Flor Dominicanaโs tobacco production with Project Carbonโs design work, including a custom-built carbon fiber case. According to the companies, the partnership developed organically, with both sides emphasizing hands-on production and control over their materials.
Alan Shea of Project Carbon commented on the design direction, saying, โNot all collabs work, but this one does. The Carbon Flower case embodies the ProjectCarbon aesthetics of dark Carbon Fiber tones, a symmetrical design, and modern feel. I think the aesthetic translated perfectly to the cigar both visually and in the blend. Holding it in your finger tips will be something quite different; The color of the leaf, the shape and size with its pigtail set expectations of something dark and bold. Two unlikely partners, where heritage meets functionality, itโs very exciting.โ
Tony Gomez of La Flor Dominicana added, โWe loved this collaboration from day one, Project Carbon is a beautiful brand that Iโve always admired. The cigar had to be something unique to the project and made for a special challenge. Carbon is solid, it is textured, and it looms with a sort of ominous presence. We took those characteristics and translated them into a blend that we think perfectly hits the mark.โ
The cigar itself features a dual San Andrรฉs wrapper and binder over tobaccos grown at La Flor Dominicanaโs La Canela farm. It is described as a full-bodied blend with a darker profile. Each set is packaged in a reusable carbon fiber case designed specifically for the release.
Carbon Flower is scheduled to be available at the PCA Convention in New Orleans, with production limited to 1,500 cases.
