Davidoff has announced a new line called Puro Dominicano, marking the companyโs first major addition to its Black Band Collection since the debut of Davidoff Yamasรก roughly a decade ago. The new release focuses entirely on Dominican tobaccos and is scheduled to reach retailers beginning April 23, 2026.
According to the company, the blend uses tobaccos sourced from six different growing regions in the Dominican Republic, with a combined age of 32 years. The cigar is described as a full Dominican puro and will be offered in three formats: Short Robusto, Corona Larga, and Perfecto.
The Corona Larga size carries a bit of symbolism for the brand. With a 44 ring gauge, the format is intended to reference 1844, the year the Dominican Republic declared independence. Davidoff says the vitola is unique within its portfolio.
The cigars will be packaged in black wooden cabinet boxes containing 12 cigars of a single format, as well as five-packs. Packaging includes a yellow accent line that the company says draws inspiration from Dominican amber.
โThe blend is composed of well-aged tobaccos from six Dominican terroirs with a combined age of 32 years,โ the company said in announcing the project.
Davidoff plans to showcase the Puro Dominicano to retailers during the Premium Cigar Association trade show, which takes place April 17โ20 in New Orleans, before the official retail launch later that month.
Availability may vary depending on market.
