Selected Tobacco has partnered with Florida retailer Cigarz on the Ave to commemorate the shop’s 30th anniversary with a limited humidor release featuring cigars from the Alfonso portfolio.
The project centers around a 10-count Alfonso humidor created for the milestone celebration of the Winter Park, Florida retailer owned by Don Patel. Production is limited to 200 individually numbered humidors, each containing cigars that have undergone extended aging in Madrid, Spain.
Inside the humidor are two cigars from Selected Tobacco’s Alfonso lineup:
- 5 Alfonso Añejo No. 3 (6 x 54)
- 5 Alfonso Gran Selección Exclusivo (6 x 54)
According to the company, the cigars were aged for five years after rolling, a process commonly used for Selected Tobacco’s blends before they are released.
The humidor itself includes a piano lacquer finish with gold accents, hidden hinges, and a numbered plaque. An internal humidification chamber and fixed hygrometer are built into the design to help maintain storage conditions for the cigars.
“This anniversary humidor represents something very special for our store,” said Don Patel, owner of Cigarz on the Ave. “For 30 years we’ve focused on building a destination in Winter Park. Partnering with Nelson Alfonso and Selected Tobacco to create a release like this is a great way to celebrate that milestone with our customers.”
The Cigarz on the Ave 30th Anniversary Alfonso Humidor will debut during a private event on March 19 with Nelson Alfonso in attendance. The set will retail for $600.
