After more than two decades in business, Sabor Havana has introduced a new chapter at its Doral location with the debut of a full-service cocktail lounge. The expansion was unveiled during an invitation-only grand opening event on February 5 at the shop’s home in the Westend Shopping Center in Doral, Florida.
The gathering drew a number of recognizable figures from the premium cigar industry, including Nestor Miranda, Christian Eiroa, Rocky Patel, Erik Espinosa, Orlando and Jorge Padron, reflecting the store’s long-standing industry relationships in South Florida.
According to the company, the updated space centers around a professionally designed lounge environment that pairs premium cigars with a full cocktail program. The layout incorporates curated seating and updated finishes intended to shift the experience beyond traditional retail and toward a hospitality-driven setting. During the opening event, guests were offered cocktails, catered food, music, and cigars as part of the evening’s programming.
Sabor Havana was founded by partners Jorge Luis Valdes and Aquiles Legra and has operated in the area for 24 years. The addition of the lounge integrates retail and hospitality under one roof, a move that mirrors broader trends among brick-and-mortar cigar retailers looking to expand their in-store experience.
One notable feature of the new lounge is its air handling system, which the company says replaces indoor air every 10 minutes with fresh, non-recycled air.
The expansion was formally recognized by the City of Doral, which hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Christi Fraga and Councilwoman Nicole Reinoso. As part of the ceremony, Sabor Havana received a key to the city and the Small Business Legacy Award in acknowledgment of its years of service in the community.
“This lounge embodies the growth of our community and the experience our customers have come to anticipate from us,” stated Jorge Luis Valdes. “We sought to create a space that exudes an elevated, welcoming, and worthy ambiance, befitting the relationships we have cultivated over the past two decades.”
The Sabor Havana Cocktail Lounge is now open to the public at its Doral location.
