Patina y Viso has announced the upcoming release of Leprechaun Dust, a limited-edition candela cigar scheduled to begin shipping to retailers next month. The cigar is a 5 x 52 Candela Robusto and has already sold out at the manufacturer level.

Production for Leprechaun Dust is limited to 200 bundles of 10 cigars, with an MSRP of $12.50 per cigar. The cigars were produced at N.A.C.S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, with distribution handled by City of Palms.

According to the company, the project took shape during multiple trips to Nicaragua, following discussions with Gustavo Cura of Oliva Tobacco that focused on the candela fermentation process and its inherent challenges. Those conversations helped shape the direction of the blend.

Rather than aiming for a traditional candela profile, the intent was to create a cigar that would not immediately identify itself as a candela in a blind tasting. The finished blend was designed to avoid the sharper or grassy notes often associated with the wrapper, favoring a more balanced and approachable profile.

The name Leprechaun Dust references Chicago’s annual St. Patrick’s Day tradition of dyeing the Chicago River green, a nod to the brand’s Midwest roots.

Although the release is sold out at the manufacturer level, Leprechaun Dust is expected to be available next month at select retailers, while supplies last.
