Six years after Billy and Gus Fakih first landed on Cigar Dojo’s year-end list with their debut line, Viva La Vida, the brothers returned with the cigar’s sister blend: Viva La Vida Connecticut. Like the original, the Connecticut is rolled out of A.J. Fernández’s primary factory, located in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend features an all-Nicaraguan interior recipe topped with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, marking the first Connecticut-style blend from Artesano del Tobacco. The experience is more texture-forward than your average Connecticut, having a thick, viscous mouthfeel. This allows notes of heavy cream and almond butter to shine, backed by a kick of white pepper and, eventually, added complexity through a sourdough bread-like character.
