In all our years showing off our top picks, this is the first time we’ve added Line Extension to the Exceptional Awards category. The decision was made partly to have a broader range of winners… and partly because this particular cigar was too good not to be recognized in some way. It’s dubbed Fidelity, representing a new 6″ x 54 expression of the beloved Intemperance EC XVIII line from RoMa Craft Tobac. The cigar was joined by a host of line extensions from the brand in 2025, including similar toros across each of the Intemperance blends, along with a few Lonsdales for good measure. Since the line’s 2012 debut, the EC XVIII has long been a favorite among Cigar Dojo staff, particularly in the 5″ x 56 Brotherly Kindness size. A little longer and a little thinner, the new toro format offers a familiar yet extended experience (duh), concentrating the profile and maintaining a high level of consistency from cigar to cigar. This is about as full-bodied a Connecticut as you’ll come across, showing off a rich texture and a chewy profile while hitting standout notes of fresh-cut cedar, butterscotch, sweetened condensed milk, white chocolate, and gobs of peanut butter.
