Switzerland-based MEERAPFEL Cigar has introduced the Ernest Lancero, the latest addition to the brandโ€™s ultra-premium Master Blend series. The cigar pays homage to Ernest Meerapfel, great-grandfather of the current generation and a pioneering figure who helped shape the familyโ€™s tobacco legacy more than a century ago.

Established in 1610, the MEERAPFEL family remains one of the oldest active names in the cigar industry. Ernest Meerapfelโ€™s story traces back to the early 1900s, when he set sail for Indonesia and became a major exporter of Sumatra tobaccoโ€”an adventurous leap that helped define the familyโ€™s global influence in the tobacco trade.

The Ernest Lancero (7ยฝ x 40) draws inspiration from that same sense of exploration. The blend features the brandโ€™s hallmark Genuine Meerapfel Cameroon wrapper, accentuating a profile described as complex and vibrant, with flavors of leather, dark chocolate, oriental spice, and a touch of salty minerality.

โ€œWe over-engineer every technical detail of MEERAPFEL Cigar, making them uniquely different,โ€ said Jeremiah E. Meerapfel, noting that the brandโ€™s attention to the tobaccoโ€™s technical performance is reflected in its combustion and essential oils โ€” hallmarks of MEERAPFELโ€™s craftsmanship.

The tobaccos used in the Ernest Lancero have been aged under natural conditions for more than two decades in vaults located in the โ€œcapital of Europe.โ€ Each cigar is presented in a Paulownia-wood chest of 25 and limited to 613 chests per year, priced at $73 per cigar. Global shipping is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
