After seven years and more than 300 episodes, How Bout That Cigar (HBTC) has announced it will close operations at the end of 2025. The showโs remaining Monday night episodes will continue through the year, with a final broadcast set for December 8, 2025.
Founded by Matt Tye in 2018, HBTC quickly became known for its friendly, conversational style and the long-running live show HBTC Live. Co-host Garret Robinson helped launch the program and created the popular Numero de los Muertos segment before departing in 2021.
That same year, Justin Lawler joined as producer, elevating the showโs production quality and trade show coverage. Later, in 2023, Raul Ramos came aboard as co-host, adding fresh energy and new relationships across the cigar community.
Reflecting on the announcement, the team shared messages of gratitude:
โItโs been a wild ride all the way to the end and I have enjoyed every moment of it,โ said Justin Lawler.
โThough I am saddened by the end of HBTC, I am also excited for what the future holds for all of us,โ added Raul Ramos.
โI am beyond grateful for this incredible journey,โ said Matt Tye, thanking the industry, sponsors, and fans.
HBTC closed their statement with a nod to their signature phrase:
โBurn cigars, not bridges.โ
