Fine Tobacco Club is launching a new project called the Ledger Series, kicking things off with a collaborative cigar made with HVC founder Reinier Lorenzo. The inaugural release, Ledger Series Vol. I, is designed to showcase blends created in partnership with notable cigar makers, reflecting the club’s growth from small NYC gatherings into a global community of cigar fans.
Founded in 2011 as Fine Tobacco NYC, the group began as a social meet-up for cigar lovers and has since evolved into a large community hosting pairing-focused events and producing original projects. Ledger Series Vol. I is the club’s first cigar release under the new series concept.
The cigar was rolled at Fábrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. in Estelí, Nicaragua, with 5,000 cigars produced in total. The blend features an Ecuadorian Habano ’92 wrapper over a Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 binder and extra-aged Nicaraguan fillers. The 5½ x 50 Robusto Extra carries an MSRP of $13 and is described as medium-bodied with an emphasis on balance.
The idea for the collaboration began at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show when Fine Tobacco Club founder Matthias Clock and HVC’s Reinier Lorenzo connected over a morning smoke. “After fifteen years of hosting events and learning what our community gravitates toward flavor-wise, it’s incredibly gratifying to see those insights culminate in this first release,” Clock said. “The feedback process for this cigar was rigorous and pointed us in a very specific direction — and Reinier executed on that vision beautifully.”
Lorenzo added, “Working with Matthias and the Fine Tobacco Club community offered a rare opportunity to collaborate directly with a group of enthusiasts who know exactly what they want from a cigar. The result is a blend that balances strength and sweetness with precision, approachable yet full of personality.”
Ledger Series Vol. I is available through select retailers nationwide and online via LuxuryCigarClub.com. An official release event is scheduled at The Carnegie Club in New York City on November 12, and more Ledger Series releases are planned for 2026.
