Cavalier Genève has announced a new entry in its Regional Edition lineup, this time paying tribute to the brand’s birthplace with a cigar made exclusively for Switzerland. The project marks the second regional-only release from the company, following its U.S. edition.
The cigar — simply named “Mauro” — comes in a 7¼ × 50 109 vitola, a classic shape that required custom molds to be produced for this release. It features an exclusive blend rolled at the company’s Fabrica Centroamericana de Tabaco in Honduras. The profile uses a Habano wrapper over a San Andrés binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras.
Only 500 boxes of ten cigars were produced, totaling 5,000 cigars. Production began nearly two years ago, with the cigars undergoing extended aging before shipment to Cavalier’s Swiss distribution partner, AMC Trading.
Founder Sébastien Decoppet explained the inspiration behind the release, saying the project has been in development for several years as a way to celebrate Switzerland’s significance to the brand:
“After lots of reflection on this concept following the creation of the original Regional Exclusive United States, Switzerland will be the second country to get a Regional Exclusive. It is the birth place of the brand, a place we wanted to celebrate accordingly.”
The cigar also serves as a tribute to longtime friend and collaborator Mauro Neri of the AMC team, whose passion and presence in the Swiss cigar community played a key role in the project.
“Mauro is simply an inspiration for everyone who knows him, for his love and dedication to the cigar world as a whole,” Decoppet said, noting that each box includes a special wax-paper note honoring Neri.
Boxes are priced at 280 CHF each and are now available through authorized retailers in Switzerland.
