CAO is set to release a new line of cigars called Surplus by CAO, a trio of bundled cigars intended to offer a more accessible entry point into the brand’s portfolio. The line includes three blend styles—Shade, Maduro, and Sweet—and is positioned as an affordable option for smokers looking to explore CAO’s blending approach without a high price tag.
“With Surplus by CAO, we wanted to create a cigar that gives more people the chance to experience our quality tobacco offerings,” said Cory Beardsley, Brand Manager. “Surplus brings our blending expertise to a price point that anyone can get behind, whatever your profile or smoking preferences.”
All three blends share a core of Dominican Olor fillers and an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder. The wrappers vary by blend: the Shade uses a Honduran Connecticut wrapper, Maduro features a Mexican San Andrés, and Sweet incorporates an aromatic Ecuadorian Sumatra. The cigars are handcrafted in Honduras and available in Robusto, Toro, and Gigante vitolas.
The cigars are packaged in 25-count bundles for the Shade and Maduro lines, and 20-count bundles for the Sweet. Surplus by CAO will begin shipping to retailers on August 1, with suggested retail pricing ranging from $45.80 to $69.75 per bundle.
