La Aurora has announced the upcoming U.S. release of the 120 Aniversario Lancero, an extension of its 120th anniversary line. Originally part of the brand’s Limited Edition Lancero Collection, the vitola will now be available as a standalone offering, with a limited run of 750 boxes set to arrive at retailers by mid-summer.
The 120 Aniversario line commemorates La Aurora’s founding in 1903 and marked the debut product for La Aurora USA, the company’s stateside business unit.
“The 120 Aniversario represents not only a major milestone for La Aurora, founded in 1903, but a major milestone for the La Aurora, USA business, as it was our first official launch as a new business entity and the line now represents one of our best-selling brands,” said Ed McKenna, CEO of La Aurora USA. “We’re excited to offer the blend now in the Lancero vitola, as it is a format that our team in Santiago de Los Caballeros executes particularly well.”
Blended entirely with Dominican-grown tobacco, the Lancero showcases a Dominican wrapper, binder, and fillers. Flavor notes are said to include peppered cinnamon, anise, sweet cocoa, coffee bean, and a vanilla finish, followed by dried fruit, tropical notes, wild honey, and earth.
“Entrusted to only our most seasoned rollers, the lancero is a format I have come to love due to the challenge in crafting each blend,” said Master Blender Manuel Ynoa. “Blender and roller must work hand in hand to ensure a flawless product, and this collection defines the La Aurora brand and the quality for which it stands.”
The 120 Aniversario Lancero carries an MSRP of $18 per cigar.
