CAO has announced the release of Amazon Basin Daggers, a new addition to its limited-edition Amazon Basin series. The cigar, measuring 4 x 38, is handcrafted at STG Estelí and is set to ship in June 2025. It uses the same blend as the original Amazon Basin, featuring Bragança tobacco, and is packaged in five-count packs with a suggested retail price of $24.99 per pack.

The Daggers incorporate Bragança, a tobacco grown in the Amazon Rainforest and harvested every three years. The leaf is cultivated organically, hand-rolled into tubes, and fermented before being transported by canoe to CAO’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The blend is completed with an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder, and filler tobaccos from Colombia and the Dominican Republic, offering earthy flavors with hints of fruit.

Cory Beardsley, brand manager for CAO, stated, “Amazon Basin fans are some of the most passionate in the cigar world. We’ve seen how quickly the original sells out and heard the same question every year: when are we getting more? Daggers are our answer to that. It’s the same blend, same rainforest story, now available in a new format.”

Introduced in 2014, the Amazon Basin line has gained attention for its use of the unique Bragança tobacco. The Daggers aim to provide a shorter smoking experience while maintaining the blend’s distinct profile. Production is limited, and availability will begin in June 2025.
