Plasencia Cigars has begun shipping its latest release, Alma del Cielo, a new blend that spotlights tobacco grown at high elevation. The cigar, which translates to โSoul from the Sky,โ made its official debut during a special event at the 2025 PCA Convention & Trade Show in New Orleans. The launch included live music by Grammy Award-winner October London and drew attention to Plasencia’s focus on soil and farming conditions in cigar creation.
The Alma del Cielo blend utilizes tobacco from Finca San Julian in Condega, Nicaragua, located over 3,500 feet above sea level. According to the company, the high-altitude environment influences the character of the tobacco, contributing to the cigarโs unique flavor profile.
Nestor Andres Plasencia remarked: โThe Alma del Cielo is a blend born out of love, passion, tradition, and family values. It was an honor to have unveiled the Alma del Cielo along with my father (Don Nestor Plasencia) and my siblings and family at the 2025 PCA.โ
During the unveiling, Plasencia shared the story behind the blend, emphasizing the familyโs continued commitment to its agricultural roots and multi-generational legacy in tobacco.
Flavor notes described for Alma del Cielo include marzipan, honey, nougat, cedar, and a lingering ginger spice. The cigar is available in three vitolas and comes in 10-count boxes:
- Amanecer โ Hexรกgono (6 x 60)
- Boreal โ Toro (6 1/8 x 54)
- Celeste โ Robusto (4 7/8 x 52)
Alma del Cielo is now shipping to retailers nationwide.
