Santa Clara, a major U.S. cigar distributor, announced the Distillers Select Series on May 5, 2025, starting with a collaboration between Montecristo and Bardstown Bourbon Company. The Montecristo X Bardstown cigar, blended at the Plasencia factory, is a Nicaraguan puro designed to pair with Bardstown’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.
The medium-bodied cigar features notes of tobacco sweetness, oak, and spice, crafted to complement the bourbon’s citrus and spice profile. “At Bardstown Bourbon we work to explore the boundaries of flavor,” said Dan Callaway, Bardstown Bourbon Co. Master Blender. “We’re pleased to partner with Montecristo to create a new tasting experience for our customers.”
“This release,” said Gabe Diaz, Montecristo Brand Manager at Altadis U.S.A., “is a tribute to the art of blending, both in cigars and bourbon, and marks an exciting beginning for the Distillers Select series.”
Limited to 7,000 boxes, the 6×52 cigar is available in boxes of 10 through select retailers, including Cigars.com, starting May 6.
