Hoyo de Monterrey has announced the addition of a new cigar, Hoyo de Monterrey Shade, to its core lineup, following the release of Rojo and Oscuro. This Honduran Puro features a Honduran Shade wrapper with Honduran binder and filler tobaccos, crafted at the HATSA factory in Danlí, Honduras.
The Shade is available in three sizes: Rothschild (4.5 x 50), Toro (6 x 52), and Gigante (6 x 60). Tasting notes include flavors of earth and grass. Scott Abney, Brand Manager for Hoyo de Monterrey, stated, “Hoyo Shade is the perfect follow-up to last year’s releases, Rojo and Oscuro. Given Hoyo’s reputation for crafting excellent shade cigars, we knew we had to set a high standard for Shade, and I’m pleased to say we’ve met it. Add to all of that a more-than-approachable price point, and I’m confident that Hoyo Shade will quickly become a fan favorite.”
Shipping begins June 2, 2025, with cigars sold in boxes of ten. Suggested retail prices range from $5.99 for the Rothschild to $8.49 for the Gigante. The box and band design align with the aesthetic of Rojo and Oscuro.
