Casa Carrillo has announced a wholesale price increase of $0.25 per cigar, effective June 1, 2025, citing newly imposed tariffs that have raised the cost of importing cigars.
According to company founder Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, the decision follows weeks of absorbing the added costs without passing them on to retailers. โTo help our partners maintain pricing stability, we have been fully absorbing the tariff costs since early April and will continue to do so through the end of May,โ Perez-Carrillo said. โEven with the upcoming price adjustment, we remain committed to easing the impact on our customers by continuing to shoulder a meaningful portion of the tariff burden.โ
Retailers can expect to receive an updated price list later this month. Casa Carrillo is encouraging accounts to place orders before June 1 to take advantage of the current pricing.
The price change reflects broader economic pressures on the premium cigar industry as manufacturers and retailers navigate the implications of new trade policies.
