Foundation Cigar Company announced the addition of two new cigars to its Wise Man lineup: the Wise Man Corojo Lancero and the Wise Man Maduro Lancero. These 7 x 40 vitolas are set to debut at the 2025 PCA Trade Show in New Orleans, occurring April 11–14, with shipping to select U.S. retailers planned for Summer or Fall 2025.
The Wise Man series pays homage to Menelik I, son of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, reflecting a blend of history and cigar craftsmanship. The Lancero format aims to highlight the distinct characteristics of the Corojo and Maduro blends.
The Wise Man Corojo Lancero, a Nicaraguan puro, features a Corojo 99 wrapper paired with filler tobaccos from Estelí and Jalapa. It offers notes of spice, cedar, and a subtle sweetness tied to Nicaraguan tobacco traditions. Meanwhile, the Wise Man Maduro Lancero combines a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper with a San Andrés binder and Nicaraguan fillers, delivering flavors of cocoa, espresso, and earth in a balanced profile.
“The Lancero has always held a special place in my heart—it was one of my grandfather’s favorite sizes, and one I’ve admired since I began blending cigars,” said Nicholas Melillo, Founder and Master Blender of Foundation Cigar Company. “This vitola puts the wrapper on full display, allowing the richness and nuance of both the Corojo and Maduro blends to shine in a truly refined way.”
Both cigars will be packaged in 20-count boxes. Attendees at the PCA 2025
