Cigar enthusiasts can look forward to some updates from Crowned Heads at the PCA Trade Show in New Orleans, scheduled for April 11-14, 2025. The Nashville-based company plans to introduce a new cigar line called “Crowned Heads Broadway” and reveal a refreshed branding approach.
The Broadway blend features a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder, and filler tobaccos from Estelรญ, Jalapa, and Ometepe. According to Jon Huber, founder of Crowned Heads, the name ties into both the tobacco choice and a nod to Nashvilleโs famous lower Broadway district. โSome of our most popular releases over the years have utilized Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers,โ Huber said, โand when we were contemplating a new brand, the thought of taking a โBroad(leaf)-wayโ approach towards it, coupled with the fact that Nashvilleโs lower Broadway district has become something of legend as a destination, was serendipitous.โ
Alongside the new cigar, Crowned Heads is rolling out a updated logo to serve as the main branding element, paired with a secondary band showing the specific brand name. Huber explained the reasoning: โWeโve discovered that while many people recognized โCrowned Heads,โ and were also familiar with some of the brands in our portfolio, many were not connecting the dots that we were responsible for such brands as Mil Dias, Mil Dias Maduro, La Imperiosa, etc.โ
The Broadway line will come in three sizesโRobusto Extra (4 3/4 x 52), Epicure (5 1/2 x 56), and Toro (6 1/2 x 54)โwith prices ranging from $11.95 to $12.95. The cigars, produced at Nicaraguan American Cigars, S.A. (NACSA) in Estelรญ, Nicaragua, will be packaged in 21-count boxes. Shipping is expected to start in late May 2025. The blend is described as medium-plus in body, with a flavor profile reminiscent of traditional maduro cigars, featuring notes of coffee, chocolate, and fruit.
