Lure Cigars have revealed the launch of “The Fat Tony,” a new addition to its Corojo Oscuro core line. This 5×54 Robusto Grande introduces a shift in strength and flavor to the blend. “I love the Big Lou toro and Lil’ Tony robusto, but when smoking the samples of this size, the blend just fit so well in this vitola. It’s like donning your favorite pair of time-softened weekend corduroys with the tag that says ‘HUSKY’ on the pocket,” said owner Lou Cross.
The cigar features a double-fermented Corojo Oscuro wrapper, an Esteli binder, and filler tobaccos sourced from Esteli, Jalapa, and Ometepe, Nicaragua. It comes packaged in 10-count sealed wax packs with red heavyweight craft stock and includes Boveda® humidification. “The Fat Tony” is priced at $12.50 per cigar and will be a regular production offering.
The blend delivers a medium to full-bodied smoke with flavors including leather, baking spices, dried fruit, café con leche, and a hint of orange peel. It will debut on April 1, 2025, at Small Batch Cigars, with broader availability to retailers at the Premium Cigar Association Tradeshow.
