La Aurora USA has announced the release of the La Aurora Preferidos Hors d’Age 2024 LE, set to debut at PCA 2025. The cigar features a Sumatra wrapper and binder, both from Ecuador, paired with long-filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Nicaragua. This blend uses tobacco aged for at least 12 years, offering a medium-to-full-bodied smoke with spicy notes, wood, cinnamon, nuts, citrus, and roasted coffee aromas.
Master Blender Manuel Inoa explained, “From seed to cigar, the journey for this release began 12 years ago. As a result, we named it Hors d’Age which is taken from the French cognac designation, literally translating to ‘beyond age.’ And just as Hors d’Age cognac is arguably some of the highest quality cognac in the world due to its age, we set out to create an annual release that was also of the highest quality, thanks to expert aging and blending.”
The cigar will be available to retailers at PCA 2025, held April 11-14 at the New Orleans Convention Center. Rolled in a Toro format (5.75 x 54), it comes in boxes of 15, with only 700 boxes allocated for the U.S. market. Shipping to retailers is expected in late April, with an MSRP of $450 per box or $30 per cigar.
