Altadis USA and its subsidiary brand Aging Room Cigars have announced the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Concerto, the third cigar in the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua series. Like the former releases in the collection, the Concerto is a collaboration between Rafael Nodal, co-owner of Aging Room Cigars and vice president of product capability at Tabacalera USA, and Master Blender AJ Fernández.
The Quattro line has long been tied to classical music, as Nodal is a talented violinist, and the Concerto continues the theme: “The Concerto, inspired by classical music compositions, represents a harmonious collaboration between a solo instrument and orchestral accompaniment,” Nodal stated in a press release. “In this blend, the ‘solo instrument’ is the exclusive hybrid wrapper from one of AJ Fernández’s most exclusive farms, Finca La Lilia, and the selected extra-aged tobaccos represent the accompaniment to create a Concerto of flavors.”
The Quattro Nicaragua Concerto uses tobacco from Fernández’s first harvest of his Finca Los Espejos farm, being nearly 12 years old, alongside leaves from Finca La Lilia. Both farms are located in Estelí, Nicaragua, where volcanic soil and extended fermentation contribute to the tobacco’s characteristics—said to be especially thick and flavorful. The cigar has a Nicaraguan wrapper, binder, and filler, and is described as medium-to-full in strength. It will be soft box-pressed and rolled in a large selection of sizes, and is said to include characteristics of chocolate, espresso, spices, and earth, with a smooth finish.
This release follows two notable cigars from Nodal and Fernández: the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua and the Quattro Nicaragua Sonata, each ranking highly among some of the industry’s top publications. The Concerto is available in six sizes, packaged in boxes of 20, except for the Impromptu (boxes of 10) and Maestro (boxes of 10 or 20). The cigars will retail at $14.84 to $17.08 MSRP when available, though a specific time frame was not mentioned in the announcement from Altadis.
