E.P. Carrillo Cigars has unveiled Endure, the first offering in the Perez-Carrillo Premier Collection. This new cigar blend pays homage to the legacies of the Perez-Carrillo and Meerapfel families, emphasizing their shared heritage and commitment to the craft of cigar making.
The blend draws inspiration from the Perez-Carrillo family’s journey from Cuba to the United States and highlights the Meerapfel family’s efforts to preserve the rare Meerapfel Cameroon wrapper. In the 1990s, Rick Meerapfel worked to save this unique tobacco from near extinction, overcoming significant challenges in Central Africa to ensure its survival for future generations.
The Endure cigar features the Meerapfel Cameroon wrapper, prized for its distinctive qualities, and is complemented by Nicaraguan tobaccos in the binder and fillers. This medium-to-full-bodied cigar offers layered flavors and a subtle hint of spice, pairing well with aged Scotch and robust coffee.
Initially available in Robusto and Toro sizes (10-count boxes priced at $18 and $20 per cigar, respectively), a Corona Gordo size is planned for a later release. Retailers can begin preorders on January 2, 2025, with the first shipments scheduled for late January.
Ernesto Perez-Carrillo, Founder of E.P. Carrillo Cigars, described the project as a reflection of perseverance. “This blend tells a story of resilience and dedication. It honors the efforts made to preserve traditions and the sacrifices that have shaped the cigar community.”
The Endure line connects smokers to the histories of the Perez-Carrillo and Meerapfel families, celebrating their shared commitment to excellence in cigar craftsmanship.
