Revealed in a Facebook post today, Steve Saka, owner and founder of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust, showed off the upcoming Sobremesa Solita Red cigar for the first time. The new addition to the Sobremesa line is set to debut in late winter 2025, with pre-orders opening in two weeks.
Saka warns that the initial demand is expected to outstrip supply. However, he assures that allocation will be fair, stating, “We will definitely allocate it out fairly to all of our purveyors who pre-commit regardless of their size.”
The cigar is positioned as a bolder and richer version of its predecessors. Saka describes it as “still distinctly Sobremesa, but with just that extra bit of pizazz that takes it from being a great cigar to an exceptional one.” This follows Saka’s earlier decision to cease production of the Cervantes Fino size within the Sobremesa Solita line (a move that came roughly a year ago, as the company transitioned the former Sobremesa line to its current Sobremesa Solita name).
Expect to see the Sobremesa Solita Red in stores by late February or early March 2025. The specific release date will likely be confirmed as the launch approaches. As the release date nears, more details about the blend, pricing, and availability are expected to be revealed.
