Smoke Inn has announced the 19th official release in their long-running MicroBlend Series, partnering with Aganorsa Leaf for the Rare Fusion cigar.
The Aganorsa Leaf Rare Fusion is said to combine the best attributes from Aganorsa’s recent hits—Supreme Leaf and Rare Leaf—leading to the Fusion title. This includes a Corojo ’99 influence from the Supreme Leaf blend and a Criollo ’98 influence from the Rare Leaf Reserve. This materializes through a Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 wrapper and an all-Nicaraguan interior recipe that includes Nicaraguan Corojo ’99, Criollo ’98, and Corojo 2012. The latter ingredient is Aganorsa’s newest achievement in agronomy, and is said to be “included in the filler to create a perfect synthesis of these two incredible ligas in one Nicaraguan puro, making for a highly enjoyable harmony between the two.”
“With the Aganorsa Leaf Rare Fusion, the cigar combines the best of both worlds, showcasing the sweet, slightly salty, graham cracker-like characteristics that have made Aganorsa’s Corojo ’99 one of the most sought-after leaves on the market today[…]. Meanwhile, Aganorsa’s peppery/savory Criollo makes its mark as well, being used throughout the interior recipe. As an added touch, the cigars are finished with the company’s latest tobacco achievement—Nicaraguan Corojo 2012[…]”
The Aganorsa Leaf Rare Fusion is rolled out of the Aganorsa Leaf factory in Estelí, being offered in a singular 6″ x 54 format, “boasting a larger ring gauge so as to best showcase the unique Corojo ’99, Corojo 2012, and Criollo ’98 ingredients that have made Aganorsa a favorite in today’s craft circles.” The cigars are set to debut on May 10th, with a limited allocation of 5,000 cigars (500 boxes of 10) going up for sale through Smoke Inn’s online storefront at 12pm (EDT).
Smoke Inn first launched the MicroBlend Series in 2010, partnering with Tatuaje for the now-beloved Tatuaje Anarchy cigar. The concept was inspired by the small-batch approach made popular through the craft beer industry, and is often considered transformative for premium cigars, opening the door for the ubiquitous collaborations and one-off releases now found throughout the market. In the years following, Smoke Inn has partnered with nearly every major player in the craft (and sometimes larger) space, though Aganorsa Leaf was becoming a glaring omission.
