Following the December announcement of Macanudo’s ninth Inspirado cigar—Inspirado Year of the Rabbit—the brand is back with the Macanudo Inspirado Tercio Aged as the 10th release in the popular Inspirado series.
For this release, the focus centers around the process of tercio aging, which involves tightly bundling the tobacco in royal palm bark for six months. This aging method has been applied to the cigar’s Piloto Cubano tobaccos in the filler, and is described as “round[ing] out the tobacco in a way that is not attainable through other methods, delivering deep nuances and heightened aroma.”
As with nearly all other Inspirado cigars, the Macanudo Inspirado Tercio Aged is rolled at the General Cigar Dominicana factory in the DR, using a Mexican San Andrés wrapper for the first time in the series. The binder is Indonesian, and the fillers stem from Colombia and the DR. This results in a medium-bodied smoke, described as “rich, earthy notes, a smooth, white pepper finish and alluring aroma.”
Unlike the former Inspirado Year of the Rabbit release, the Inspirado Tercio Aged will ship to the US (scheduled for the first week of April), with a limited production of 3,400 boxes of 10 cigars. Two sizes have been rolled—Toro and Churchill—priced at $10.49 and $10.99 respectively.
