First announced in February, the first AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 cigars began shipping to retailers on March 23rd.
In recent years, AVO Cigars has been known to release limited projects that are larger in scope than a single blend, often including two to four different varieties. This includes recent releases such as the AVO Regional series (North, South, East, and West) and the AVO Unexpected series (Moment, Celebration, Passion, and Tradition). With the AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series, the cigars have been blended to pair well with each of the four seasons throughout the year, beginning with spring and ending with winter.
All four cigars are rolled in a shapely 6⅝” x 50 diadema format, and all four will be priced at $18 MSRP, featuring unique glass-top boxes that partially reveal the cigars through semi-transparent visuals on the lid. The first release is the AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 Spring, which features an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper, Dominican San Vicente seco binder, and Dominican fillers (San Vicente, Piloto Cubano, and 192 hybrid).
Future releases are not so specific in makeup, at least at the time of this writing:
- AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 Summer
- Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper | Mexican binder | Dominican filler
- AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 Autumn
- Mexican San Andrés wrapper | Dominican binder | Dominican filler
- AVO Seasons Limited Edition Series 2023 Winter
- Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper | Dominican binder | Dominican filler
The company states that some tobaccos included have been aged for up to 14 years, being rolled at AVO’s usual factory: Oettinger Kelner Cigar Corp Inc. AVO describes all four releases as medium in body. There will be 4,000 boxes per season, with 1,500 boxes allocated to the US.
